Daniel Keating Jr is an artist and research affiliate at the City of Boston and the MIT Medialab. His research aims at developing Discursive Research Tools (DRT) that enable place-based collaborative visioning processes through interactive play oriented public art installations. He is particularly interested in Social Coordination Technologies, Civic Engagement Innovation, and Collective Sense-Making.

Before joining MIT, Keating earned a BDIC in urban and organization studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (2022), and an Associates in Business Transfer from Northern Essex Community College (2019). His career has spanned nearly 100 roles including fit model for athletic wear brands, farmer and doughnut maker at the renowned Cider Hill Farm, and multiple fellowships with the City of Boston where he was the city's inaugural Emerging Technology Fellow and the only ever Organizational Design Fellow.
